Nundah Community Enterprises Cooperative (NCEC) is a Brisbane-based social enterprise and workers’ co-op.

We run award-winning gardening, café and catering enterprises, trusted by councils, corporate clients, and the community. Every worker is also a co-op member with a real say in how we operate. We partner with the community, industry and government to maximise our impact in advancing social change whilst minimising our impact on the planet. We are proud to have been recognised as Australia’s best social enterprise, twice, but even more proud to prove every day that inclusion leads to smart, sustainable enterprise.

We operate under the seven principles used by the International Cooperative Alliance including:

  1. Voluntary and Open Membership
  2. Democratic Member Control
  3. Member Economic Participation
  4. Autonomy and Independence
  5. Education, Training, and Information
  6. Cooperation among Cooperatives
  7. Concern for Community

Cooperatives are also based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity. Cooperative members believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility, and caring for others.

From time to time, we seek new people to help us keep up the good work. When we do, we advertise them here.
